my nails are chipping!
RAAA!
the haze has subsided A LOT!
thank god!
isnt it better for me not to update my hk trip all in a chunk?!
01stOct - sun (DAY THREE)
what a good night sleep!
uncle johnny (mum's very good friend) and his wife came to look for us at the hotel.
we trained to i forgot where, but i saw the train to disneyland!
we wanted to take the cable car but the queue was so friggin long!
so we took the bus to ngong ping instead.
it's somewhere near the hugh buddha is.
a new tourist attraction.
a longgg journey. up and down the moutains.
the scenery while travelling was whoosh!
like i said, i like viewing down from heights.
saw the prison!
we could see the cable car along the way too.
the cable car line is like thrice as long as s'pore's one.
SO IMAGINE URESELF UP THERE.
the weather there was so cooling!
like air con... AHHHH~
i tried this strawberry coated with rock sugar.
there's six of it on one stick and they're frozen.
nice but too sweet!
there wasnt really a lot to see there just those 'gu dai' shop houses.
took a bus to some sort of an island called 'da ou'.
it's a fisherman's village kinna thing.
houses were built on stilt.
i dont know how they live their daily lives in this small village.
the houses aka their shop hardly have anything in there.
maybe just a television.
the kids only have one another to play with.
maybe that's what you call a simple yet carefree life.
nothing much for you to worry.
we had our late lunch at a restaurant there.
AWESOME FOOD!
prawn paste fried rice, prawn paste squid, fish omelette, prawns, kangkong, bittergourd with fish.
i love the fried rice and omelette!
bused back to the train station, again, lonnggg way.
napped.
walked around the shopping mall with all the factory outlets.
too tired to really shop and mum wasnt feeling very well.
back to the hotel and mum had diarrhoe.
wanted to call dee out but it's too last minute and i should be a good daughter to accompany her.
muahahahaha!
and oh! it was china's (hongkong is part of china now) national day today!
didnt get a chance to see the fireworks up close so just watched it on teevee.
IT WAS 23MIN LONG OK!
there were 5parts to it if i'm not wrong.
the fireworks were put out from the river.
pretty!
and because of the national day, china people gets 10days holidays!
so hongkong is pretty much 'infested' with china ppl.
and they're so arrogant just cuz hongkong is under china now.
they're inconsiderate for spoiling the things in disneyland and ocean park and making the whole place dirty.
the shout at the top of their voices in shoppin malls,
like one level to the other as if they own the place.
omg! be civilised!
obv not ALL are like this.
end of day three.
ps: photos will come soon. P.A.T.I.E.N.C.E : )))))))))))
**************************************************************
smth bout today.
met cand at 630 at cine to catch the 730 movie.
LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE.
didnt know what the movie was about and i didnt hear of such a movie before.
went to sakae sushi for dinner.
YUMS.
the movie was so friggin hilarious!
4.5kickass outta 5.
the beginning wasnt really very funny but a lot of the word 'FUCK' coming out.
but as it goes along, it's so FUNNY!
cand and i were laughin SO hard!
it's a good show to catch.
highly recommended.
two thumbs up!
town is getting so quiet and so not happening (has it been?).
if it was in hongkong, it'll be so crowded even at 12.
but then again, we dont have THAT population and our people are all ready for bed alr by that time cuz there's work and school tmr.
is that wad you call 'kiasi'?
cuz hongkies dont really care even if there's work tmr.
depends on individuality tho.
and my cousin just gave birth to a baby boy at 2113!
XAVIER is the name.
oh i have a baby nephew now..
and the family tree gets even MORE complicating cuz we dont know what he should call the diff. generations in the traditional way.
our family chose to keep the tradition instead of just calling 'aunty' and 'uncle'.
which i'm glad cuz it keeps the close knit-ness and the 'taste' of it.
special essence?
like you can call anyone 'aunty' and 'uncle' even if they're not related.
so how are you differentiating family with non-family members?
oh no, i'm 'OLD'.
